Roots & Routes

We work in partnerships to strengthen the knowledge and leadership of people with lived experiences of migration, diaspora and displacement. Research projects allow us to develop longer-term strategies to articulate migrant methodologies and to build support infrastructures.

From Summer 2024 - 2025, we welcome Hannah Yu-Pearson and Jack Ky Tan, in conversation with Migrants in Culture’s Joon-Lynn Goh, to explore how Daoist philosophy and practice can provide guidance for living through times of (often violent) change. Find out more here.

With Paul Hamlyn Foundation, as a core member of the Lived Experience Leadership Collective Inquiry, we are designing a research process to explore the barriers and enablers of lived experience leadership in the migration sector.

With Greater London Authority’s Civic Futures Fellowship & Koreo, we are researching how artistic methodologies and lived experiences of migration have the potential to shape the stewardship of London.

With Central School of Speech and Drama, Valentina Vela and Nene Camara (from Artsadmin) we are developing Migrant Futures, a pilot programme which explores migrant-led models of mentorship and mutual aid. Migrant Futures consists of a series of workshops and the creation of a mentorship network, as well as a digital resources platform for migrant artists, organisations and researchers.
